Aeromat

The release of the finest bubbles of a gas in a reactive mixture is responsible for the formation of cells and therefore also for the final structure of the cells of polyurethane foam products.

This is why gas dosage on the polyol side is inevitable in some PUR applications. In the production of hard integral foams this for example serves for the development of extremely large number of gas nuclei, which are responsible for the fine cell structure. Gas addition is also widely used in the processing of compact PUR systems, e.g. in the RIM and RRIM applications. It causes additional pressure during the reaction in the form, which prevents the occurrence of sinkmarks and significantly reduces the costs of consequent finishing. This moreover facilitates the achievement of high-quality surfaces in compact systems.
